Our Mission

To relieve poverty by providing basic necessities of life including food, personal hygiene items, and clothing to families who are in need, and to undertake activities ancillary and incidental to that purpose.

Our Vision

In a perfect world, our services would not be needed.

Our Story

The Community Cupboard started in 2013 inside a school.

Teachers and staff at Chilliwack Middle School saw students coming to class without enough food or proper clothing. They didn’t wait for a solution — they created one.

What began as a small cupboard quickly grew into a space where families could come and get what they needed.

As demand grew, so did the organization.

We moved locations, became an official society in 2017, and in 2024 became a registered charity.

Today, we continue that same mission — just on a larger scale.
